8 Payment Policy Items for Sober Living Operators

  1. Fee Schedule and Due Dates:
    • All fees and security deposits are due on the first day of residency.
    • For residents on a week-to-week schedule, fees are prorated based on the move-in date. Regular fee collection occurs every Friday.
    • Residents must be aware of their financial commitment upon entering the facility, with clear understanding of the monthly or weekly fee structure.
  2. Pro-Rated Fees:
    • If a resident checks in mid-week, fees for the remaining days of that week (until the upcoming Friday) will be prorated accordingly.
  3. Non-Payment Policy:
    • The facility recognizes the financial challenges of early recovery and will consider delays in payment on a case-by-case basis.
    • Non-payment may result in specific consequences, which are communicated in advance to all residents.
  4. Refund Policy:
    • Refunds are issued at the discretion of the facility, based on the resident's length of stay, standing within the community, and circumstances of departure.
    • Residents in good standing may receive a prorated refund upon departure.
    • No refunds will be provided for residents discharged due to rule violations or recurrence of use.
  5. Testing Costs:
    • A portion of the monthly fee is allocated specifically for drug and alcohol testing supplies and administration.
    • There are no additional charges for routine testing conducted within the facility.
  6. Administrative and Hold Fees:
    • A non-refundable administration fee or bed hold fee is required at the start of residency.
    • Residents expelled for failing sobriety tests will forfeit all paid fees.
  7. Accepted Payment Methods:
    • The facility accepts various forms of payment including cashier’s check, personal check, and electronic payments via platforms like Zelle, Cash App, and Venmo.
    • Receipts will be issued for all payments, ensuring transparency and record-keeping.
  8. Payment Commitment:
    • Residents agree to a set fee amount per month or week, with commitments clearly outlined in the payment agreement.
