A Way Home Housing operates sober living homes for individuals in recovery in Gaithersburg and Rockville, Maryland. Its stated mission is to provide a safe, clean, and supportive living environment, maintaining structured, well-cared-for homes where accountability, respect, and personal responsibility support lasting sobriety and continued growth. Homes include shared bedrooms, with a limited number of single rooms reserved for the most senior members of the house, along with welcoming shared living spaces, reliable Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchens, and room for residents to relax and connect. Residents are expected to take pride in maintaining a respectful, clean, and well-kept home. The program requires attendance at a minimum of three in-person 12-step meetings per week (IOP groups may count toward two of the three), maintaining a working relationship with a sponsor, and maintaining employment or attending school. Weekly house meetings are mandatory and daily chores are assigned. Consumption or possession of alcohol or illicit drugs is prohibited, and residents must submit to drug and alcohol testing at any time upon request. Guests are permitted; guests may not be present past curfew and are only allowed in common areas. Curfew is midnight, with quiet hours observed. No pets are allowed, and smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas. Fees are $200 per week, paid in advance each Monday, with a $200 non-refundable admin fee required at move-in; the first week is prorated and all fees are non-refundable.
