Project Morning Star

Project Morning Star (The Morning Star Residential Recovery House) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) faith-based residential recovery facility located on a farmstead eight miles south of Worthington, Minnesota. Two homes on the property—one for men and one for women—provide a safe, structured, sober-living environment for individuals in long-term recovery. The Christian program aims to give hope and a new start, fostering spiritual and emotional growth and personal accountability in the name of Jesus Christ. Residents have private rooms and share communal meals. They pay a $500 monthly living fee, must find employment within 30 days (or may work at the facility until they do), and participate in the Celebrate Recovery 12-step program sponsored by Lakeside Church of Worthington. There is a zero-tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use. Residents attend all house meetings, obey curfews, submit to periodic inspections and random substance screening, share household and grounds duties, and attend weekly church services. The program offers group counseling, life-skills and job-skills courses, personal improvement workshops, enrichment activities, community service, and ministry opportunities, plus continued contact and support after re-entry into the community. Children may come with their parents.
