Christ-centered men's second-step home with case management and local job placement; faith welcomed but never required for entry
Brother's Place is a Christ-centered, faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Rome, Georgia providing supportive housing, recovery support, and community for men rebuilding their lives after detox—typically a 6 to 18 month stay. Founded by Rome natives TK and Claudia Hamilton, both with personal recovery experience, and led by Executive Director Maloy Owen, the ministry operates a home at 1709 Maple Street. Its work rests on four pillars: supportive housing (furnished private or shared rooms, three meals a day, laundry, shared common areas, and a structured daily routine); case management (a dedicated case manager, written 30/60/90-day plans, and linkage to mental health services, addiction treatment, primary healthcare, SNAP, Medicaid, disability and veteran benefits, ID/document recovery, and housing vouchers); spiritual formation (daily 6:30 AM devotion, weekly Bible study, Sunday worship with partner churches, and one-on-one discipleship); and reintegration and jobs (resume building, interview practice, GED prep, financial literacy, and connections to local employers in Rome and Floyd County). Residents work and contribute toward their expenses. Faith in Christ is named openly as the foundation of the work but is not required for entry; men are welcomed regardless of where they are on their faith journey. The organization serves Floyd County and the broader Northwest Georgia region.
