New Beginning Sanctuary/Simmering Center

12-month+ program with faith-based & secular tracks plus MAT; self-funded 501(c)(3) operating since 2013 across four MO cities

New Beginning Sanctuary (NBS) is a sober living program based in Springfield, MO with homes in Kansas City, Springfield, Joplin, and Branson (the Simmering Center). It is a self-funded 501(c)(3) organization with no financial ties to religious groups and serves as a level 2 recovery support service provider. NBS offers a 12-month or longer program with both faith-based and secular recovery options, including Medically Assisted Treatment. Operating since 2013, the program provides a structured, supportive environment intended to help individuals achieve long-term recovery from substance and alcohol use, build accountability and stability, and restore relationships with loved ones. Each home includes 24/7 leadership, basic essentials, and limited access to phones, TV, computers, and WiFi. Clients are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, completing chores, and following house guidelines. The program is funded by client fees and enforces a zero-tolerance policy for drugs, alcohol, fighting, and theft. Supported recovery pathways include Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous (12-step), All Recovery Meetings, SMART Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, Bible studies, and peer support, along with random drug and alcohol testing and job placement referral, interview strategies, and coaching. Success is measured through financial independence and sobriety.
