Bridges of Hope Georgia

Working 12-step, faith-based recovery program since 1986 where residents run the rural Georgia facilities through hands-on work therapy.

Bridges of Hope Charitable Trust is a nonprofit, faith-based 12-step residential addiction recovery program for men and women in rural Georgia, founded December 23, 1986 in Argyle (Clinch County). It operates four long-term residential centers—three for men (Homerville/Argyle, Chauncey, Louisville/Stapleton) and one for women (Morven). It is not a medical, detox, or psychiatric facility and provides no on-site professional counseling; it cannot accept people needing medical detox, with a dual diagnosis, a history of violence, or anyone under 18. Residents must be in fair to good physical condition to take part in daily on-site work activities such as housekeeping, gardening, greenhouse and woodworking, since the program operates without hired staff for these tasks. The program is built on Alcoholics Anonymous principles—fellowship, prayer and spiritual growth—with daily devotionals, Big Book studies, on-site AA/NA and off-site meetings, small-group accountability, and life-skills training. Roughly 45 days before completion, residents go through an exit-planning process covering housing, sober support, employment or education, and transitional programs. The fee is $900 per month (cash or check, pro-rated for partial months); insurance is not accepted and the organization is supported by charitable donations rather than government funding.
