We're excited to announce the launch of the Sobriety Hub Resident App — a dedicated mobile experience that gives your residents a single place to access forms, make payments, communicate with staff and housemates, and self-report their recovery activities.

Instead of scattered texts, emails, and website links, residents have everything in one app — forms, invoices, payments, and communication.
Residents can self-report meetings, check-ins, and mood events directly to their timeline. When recording a meeting, they can drop a GPS pin to verify their location.
House group chats are automatically created and managed. When residents move in, they're added. When they discharge, they're removed. No more manually managing group texts with mixed iPhones and Androids.
Search for "Sobriety Hub" in the Apple App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) and download it like any other app.
Tap "Sign Up" and enter your email or phone number. Important: This must match what's already on file in your Sobriety Hub resident profile. Residents must select "Sign Up" not "Sign in" when first creating their connected accounts.
If you want to test the app before rolling it out to residents, add yourself as a dummy resident in Sobriety Hub with your own contact information, then sign up using that same info.
Why does it say "can't find my account" when I try to sign up? The phone number or email you entered doesn't match any resident profile in Sobriety Hub. Contact your house manager to verify your contact info is correct in the system.
Can I sign in on multiple devices? Yes. The system tracks which devices you use, so staff can see which device recorded each activity if needed.
Can residents update their phone number or email in the app? No. Staff must update contact info on the admin web app. If your info changes and no longer matches your mobile account, you'll need to create a new account with the updated information.
What happens if I delete my account? This removes your mobile app access but does NOT delete data staff have entered about you. However, data you personally entered (like GPS locations) will be removed per App Store requirements.
Can residents without a cell phone log in on a computer? No, the app is mobile-only. However, residents can still use the payment portal on the web by logging in with their phone and email.
Will residents with TextNow or Wi-Fi-only access be able to use the app? The app requires an internet connection (cellular data or Wi-Fi). Messages are sent over data, not SMS. If a resident only has SMS access, they'll need to use traditional text messaging.
What events can residents self-report? Meeting attendance (AA, NA, etc.), check-ins, and mood events. Staff continue to record UAs, medications, and official notes.
How does the GPS pin drop work? When recording a meeting, tap "Add Location." The first time, the app asks for permission. After that, it instantly captures GPS coordinates attached to the event. It's a single point-in-time capture — not continuous tracking — so it won't drain batteries.
Does the app check them out if they leave a meeting early? No. It's a pin drop, not continuous tracking. If you want verification at both start and end, require residents to record two separate events.
What stops someone from pin-dropping and leaving? Nothing technically. You can require pins at start and end, or message residents anytime asking them to drop a pin to verify their current location.
Can someone else log in and drop a pin for them? Difficult — the app uses two-factor authentication. Someone would need access to their email or phone. The system also tracks which physical device records each location.
How does the house group chat work? When you download the app and are assigned to a house, you're automatically added to that house's group chat. When you move or discharge, you're automatically removed.
Are messages sent via SMS? No. All messages are sent through the app over data (cellular or Wi-Fi) and appear only within the app.
Do residents get notifications? Yes. Push notifications for DMs, group messages, invoices received, and forms shared — if enabled.
Can staff message each other? Yes. All staff can DM each other from different houses.
What forms appear in the app? Two sections: "Shared With Me" (forms assigned to you, like intake packets) and "General Forms" (always available, like maintenance requests). Staff control which forms appear.
Do we still need a meetings tracking form? No. Residents can now record meeting attendance directly in the app.
How do payments work? The Payments tab shows current and overdue balances. Tap any invoice to pay — it opens the Stripe payment portal in the browser.
How do staff access messaging? Staff continue using the web browser. Click the blue Messages button in the bottom right of the admin interface to see all house group chats and DMs.
When do house group chats appear? When the first resident in a house downloads the app. Until then, you won't see a group chat for that house.
How do I know which residents have downloaded the app? Check the "Mobile App Adoption" widget on your dashboard. It shows who has and hasn't downloaded.
Can I manually add/remove residents from group chats? No. Membership is automatic based on house assignment. Transfer a resident out of a house and they're removed from that chat.
How can I tell if an event was self-reported? Self-reported events show the resident's name as author with "via Resident Mobile App" or "Mobile" next to it. You can also filter the timeline by author.
Is there an admin mobile app? Not currently. Staff use the web-based admin interface. An admin app may be considered for future development.
Is the app HIPAA compliant? Yes. Messaging is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Does it support biometric login? Yes. After initial setup, you can use Face ID, Touch ID, or other biometrics.
Are DMs private? Yes. Direct messages are private between the two participants only.
